Now it’s our turn

As a new generation of North Carolinians enters the adult world, their voices must be heard.

North Carolina is one of the fastest-growing states. That means many new families and young people who have hopes and dreams they’d like to pursue have moved here.

Unfortunately, many people are held back by economic and regulatory obstacles, such as expensive housing and restrictive schooling laws.

A statewide rollback of zoning laws, similar to the policy enacted in Houston, will vastly increase housing availability in our cities, making homeownership affordable for students and young families looking to become a part of our Tar Heel community.

Parents should also be free to send their children to the schools that work for them, without applying for permission or missing out on funds already taken from them through taxes. This can be remedied at the state level by placing the power to freely choose schools back in the hands of parents.
